Uyi Idah is the founder and creative force behind Kalabash & Tings, a cultural lifestyle brand in The Bahamas that fuses African heritage with Caribbean soul. Born to a Bahamian mother and Nigerian father, Uyi’s work bridges cultures through fashion, food, and community.
His journey began in 2015 with C.A.P.E. (Creative African Products Express) and u2couture, online platforms connecting global audiences to authentic African fashion and handmade goods. These ventures built strong ties with African designers and artisans, leading to landmark moments like co-sponsoring the Miss Teen Bahamas Pageant in 2019—outfitting contestants in African attire for a nationally celebrated Afrobeats performance.
In 2023, he launched African Tings, a Nassau boutique showcasing African-inspired fashion, accessories, home décor, and wellness products. By August 2025, the brand evolved into Kalabash & Tings, merging African Tings with Kalabash Café, which offers authentic African cuisine such as Jollof rice, Suya, Zobo, and Ethiopian coffee.

Beyond retail and dining, Uyi co-created Afrogroove, The Bahamas’ premier Afrobeats backyard festival blending African and Caribbean music, dance, and fashion into a monthly celebration of shared roots.
Through his ventures, Uyi Idah creates immersive experiences where Ankara prints meet island breeze, and every product, dish, and event celebrates identity, heritage, and unity.
